The Foundation continues to carry out the philanthropic wishes of Mr. A. E. Finley




The Foundation is managed and controlled by a Board of Directors.  Officers of the Foundation administer its affairs under the direction of the Board.

AREAS OF INTEREST

The A. E. Finley Foundation contributes to and supports charitable, scientific, literary, religious and educational organizations. The Foundation endeavors to contribute to soundly managed and operated qualifying organizations which fundamentally give service with a broad scope and impact, aid all kinds of people and contribute materially to the general welfare.

 

PRIORITIES

The focal area of the Foundation's work is the Triangle area of North Carolina with occasional grants in other areas of North Carolina and Virginia. In order to carry out the philanthropic wishes of Mr. Finley, the Foundation annually considers grant requests from several organizations which are supported during his lifetime. The Foundation has certain established guidelines that apply to all grant requests. Our Foundation policies will normally preclude grants for projects that exceed a one-year period. Generally, the Foundation does not fund other foundations, does not support international activities and institutions in other countries, and does not support political activities or any other activities of non-charitable nature. No grants in direct support of individuals are made by the Foundation under any circumstances.
